Bessie's blanket is inspired by my granny, who died at the age of 94 and was still knitting and crocheting blankets almost up until the day she died.
Her blankets were all carried to the local Oxfam shop where she hoped they would be sent to war and famine torn countries.
She watched the news avidly hoping to see a starving orphan cuddled and comforted in one of her blankets. I don't think she ever did, but I like to think somewhere in the world there are people who were indirectly comforted by my granny.
Bessie's blanket throw is perfect for your bed or sofa. It would also make an ideal gift for a new baby, or you could make one in honour of my granny and donate it to charity.
Bessies Blanket is crocheted using a selection of our DK yarns, due to it being made up of squares you can make it as large or small as you wish.
This starter kit contains a selection 1000 gm selection of our DK yarns, and the pattern.
1000 gms is enough yarn for 60 - 70 squares.
